Weekly objectives:

  1. I would like to research more into education integration models for migrants and refugees into mainstream schooling systems, what works and what doesn’t.
  2. I would like to reach out to some more organisations internationally to find out about methods of integration that are being used outside of Bordeaux as well as writing an email to AMIE charity at Bordeaux to get their opinion (however they do not work with children refugees but only adults)
  3. Research UX wireframe structures and speak to my work friend Laura about UX UI design.

Refugee education: Integration models and practices in OECD countries

The OECD countries include Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

An OECD country is: ‘Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’ – Wikipedia

“failure to integrate all students is harmful for students’ social and emotional well-being whilst it also has detrimental effects for the future labour market. Coupled with a significant shortage of research focusing explicitly on refugee children and youth through the perspective of education”
